Hello

My name is Sharon and I have a passion to make things, anything, and I am trying to do my small part to help and sustain our planet.

I have made things all my life, in fact, there are some in my family who may say I am addicted to creating, and I probably am.  Over the years, I have amassed many craft items, but a lot has just sat in my closet, unused.  A young family can have that effect.  Now they are grown(ish),  it is time to use all that stuff.

The result is, I am trying to use what I have, and use what I and others often throw away, especially jeans. This site and my Etsy shop, CrafticityUP, are the result of this desire.

My Story

In the first Etsy shop I created, (originally, TheCrafticity) CrafticityGEM, I sell my own designs of jewelry and offer to personalize and collaborate with the purchaser to design unique jewelry just for them. I love to make jewelry, especially in various precious metals and copper, and matching it with natural stones and beads. Over time, I have become more passionate about using  sustainable items to create the jewelry and especially in the packaging.   I am also very keen on recycling.  I have sewn clothes all my life. My eldest sister inspired me to learn when I was 13, she is a fashion designer by trade. It is a skill that even managed to earn me some money at university. I made  ball gowns, shirts, shorts and dresses for my fellow students. (I am not a fashion designer, but an accountant, so my friends were not all that crafty!).

My love for sewing, my tendency towards recycling and eco-friendly methods, and the enjoyment that I get from making and selling on CrafticityGEM and at craft markets, together led me to where I am today. I now have my second Etsy shop, CrafticityUP and have incorporated these items into the craft markets that I attend.  I am really enjoying this area of my crafting and hope it will continue for a long time to come.
